Remember we appealed to businesses with spare equipment to get in touch so we could find a new home with someone who needed it?
Well, ASK Italian have just donated a whole restaurant’s worth of china and cutlery to the training cafe at City & Islington College
.
Espresso cups, tea mugs, glasses, pizza platters, lasagne plates, wine glasses, water jugs, and oodles of cutlery were just a few of the hundreds of pounds’ worth of crockery bound for the café in Finsbury Park where the college trains students with physical and learning disabilities to cook and serve.
“We are thrilled,” says Shirley Roach, Organic Café Lecturer. “Our priority is teaching students about recycling and re-using. All this wonderful equipment being donated is amazing.”
“It would be a shame if all this good china that we no longer need went to waste. It is brilliant that someone can use it,” says Robert Afriyie, manager of ASK.
