Callous thieves who robbed a 76-year-old lady of her £12,000 life savings have recently been imprisoned thanks to our Angel Police Team and the extra CCTV we campaigned so hard for when we were first elected.

Their sentences will be followed by deportation - and their victim is delighted to see justice done said police team sergeant Chris Walsh.

The three crooks had been loitering in a number of local banks spying on customers taking out cash - and signaling to each other who was going out with money on them. They spotted the pensioner taking out cash in one, followed her to another where she withdrew more, and then they distracted her in the supermarket, running off with her bag containing the savings.

“The victim is very impressed at how we kept at it watching all the CCTV footage from the streets and all the banks to piece together what had happened to her and catch the thieves. Just goes to show how useful those cameras can be," added Walsh (left).
