Despite her comments about the death of town centres, Mary reckons the Angel’s in a very healthy condition: “I like the busy feel of this area. A unique mix of businesses working together to create a destination people want to come to,” she said while filming in the BID area last year.

“Having thriving Chapel Market gives a real sense of purpose to the area and creates a statement. While Camden Passage is a landmark for London and nurtures independent retailers which all give the Angel its quirky spirit.”

We agree. And all our hard work to engage local landlords with our long-term vision of the area is paying off in that some will now only rent to businesses who will sustain the area. Look out for a big sports retailer opening soon at the far end of Chapel market which will draw shoppers through and bring business for everyone.
