It's official! 40% less crime affecting Angel businesses since the BID

Crimes affecting local businesses have been slashed by a whopping 40% since the Angel Police Team started when we set up the BID.

Police figures show significantly less violence, muggings, car and bike thefts, and stealing of phones and wallets from cafes and bars. Almost the only increase is shoplifting but that’s because it’s been a police team target - so improving how shop staff can spot and report offences that they are confident to call every time.

“What a loss the Angel Police Team would be. Their help with shoplifters has been invaluable and our staff feel safer knowing they’re out there,” James Davies, deputy manager Blacks.

So it’s no wonder that 96% of businesses asked in a recent survey said it would be a disaster if the BID isn’t renewed in October because the team will no longer exist.

“The Angel Police Team is a valuable resource, important for businesses and community alike,” says Jeremy Atkinson, manager RBS.
